Death by Work - Karoshi in Japan 2012
From the Economist and WorkHealth Magazine to the Washington Post, articles have begun to surface regarding the ever so prevalent Japanese practice of over-working of the human body. It's no mystery that Japanese Culture condones hard work and very long hours and has done so since the beginning; but to literally work one's self to death? Apparently this is a new and unnerving trend happening in Japan Today.
The concept of Japanese people literally dying to commence their work day began with such basics as; no television before study, study before class as well as after, study long and hard, and so on. Their life is based in a world where education and hard work are staples which can hardly come unglued.

And for those who may have watched the video above, please remember that Japanese girls live just as stringent lives as some of the boys when it comes to education and the diligence that is taught and spoon-fed to the Japanese, as it relates to study time and work ethic and beliefs. Don't believe the Japanese women work just as hard? Try again as this is also an unfortunate reality in Japan.
It is in my opinion that the zombie movies are merely an overly exaggerated version of overworked people. Many whom are extreme workaholics such as most Japanese in this case, find that they not only forget the days prior in their work week; yet they also report not being able to remember... not only what tasks they completed at work but whether or not they went to work at all or possibly robbed a bank instead! This is the new 'Zombie Nation' Workaholism!
